Daniel Osborn of Brandon is a senior at the University of South Florida (USF), studying Marine Biology and Environmental Science.

Richard Bargielski is a USF Doctoral student.  For his dissertation in Applied Anthropology he will be spending time in Clewiston, FL at the Seminole Tribal Historic Preservation Office to research the Seminoles and their understanding of today’s serious environmental challenges in the Everglades.

2016-2017  COMMUNITY GROWTH GRANT

seeds-of-faith-community-garden-1-2At the Annual Luncheon the Grant recipients for this term were introduced.  Chana Harris, teacher of the gifted at Miles Elementary School, Tampa, spoke about their butterfly and garden for the students.  Representing Brandon’s Bay Life Church and its ‘Seeds of Faith’ community garden is Cynthia Paulus.

 

The Tampa Garden Club for the last 6 years has awarded grants to no-profit organizations to provide financial support of projects that complement our community priorities. Our Priorities include:
* Stimulating an awareness and interest in the value of gardening
* Preserving our communities green space and natural resources
* Educating the Public on environmental and beautification concerns
The maximum grant shall be $1000 and are offered annually. The grant(s) are awarded in the fall.
